Jose Martinez out of the lineup again on Thursday

Jose Martinez is not in the Cardinals' lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs. Matt Carpenter will play third base while Jedd Gyorko mans the hot corner.
Fantasy Impact:
This is a troubling sign for Martinez, who has not started any of the Cardinals' last three games, including both games managed by Mike Shildt. His poor defense, combined with a lengthy slump, makes it difficult to play him right now for the Cardinals, who are rapidly falling out of the playoff race. Don't drop Martinez if you own him, but be prepared to put him on your bench for awhile.
