Jeremy Hellickson allows two runs, no hits in no decision Friday

by Elliott Baas | Sat, Aug 11th 12:00am EDT

Jeremy Hellickson allowed two runs on no hits over 5.2 innings in the Nationals' 3-2 loss to the Cubs on Friday. He walked four and struck out three.

Fantasy Impact:

It's rare that a pitcher gets pulled from a no-hitter with only 89 pitches thrown, but Hellickson displayed poor command. Only 54 of his 89 pitches were for strikes, and he walked four. He left the game with the bases loaded and two outs, and reliever Sammy Solis allowed two runs to score. This was a rare off game in terms of control for Hellickson, as he has a stellar 1.82 BB/9 on the year. He is a low-upside streamer in mixed leagues at best. His next start comes Wednesday in St. Louis.
