Brad Hand gets 28th save

by Carmen Maiorano | Thu, Aug 16th 9:28am EDT

Brad Hand came on to face the Reds and their stack of lefties and switch hitters in the ninth inning on Wednesday, working out of a jam to record his 28th save. He allowed two hits and a walk, but was able to put out the fire with a Eugenio Suarez strikeout and a Curt Casali fly out to end the game.

Fantasy Impact:

With Cody Allen being called on to pitch the seventh and the eighth, manager Terry Francona had no choice but to give Hand the ball in the ninth. Hand's outings are typically cleaner than this, but you will still take the save. Hand will be coming on in high-leverage situations when lefties are up regardless of inning, so do not expect him to get a ton of saves going forward.
