Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera underwent successful ankle surgery in late October to clean up some bone spurs in his right ankle. During the procedure, the medical staff found and repaired a stress fracture in the navicular bone of his right foot. (MLive.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The Detroit star has had a few health problems over the past couple of years but still has remained one of the most productive hitters in the game. Having what is considered a down year for him in 2014, Cabrera still hit for a .313 average while hitting 25 home runs, 109 RBI and a career-high 52 doubles. While his off-season will be heavily regimented in rest, he is expected to be back in time to get plenty of practice in Spring Training. When healthy there is not many bats better than Cabrera's in fantasy baseball and his dual eligibility at each of the corner positions only solidifies that fact.
