Red's relief pitcher Jackson Stephens lasted only 2/3 of an inning while surrendering five earned runs on four hits to the Cardinals on Friday.
St. Louis absolutely teed off of Stephens in this one, beginning with a solo home run in the eighth inning by third baseman Patrick Wisdom. Following that, the Cards would go single, fielder's choice, walk, groundout, walk, two-run single, HBP, two-run single. It was a nightmare outing for the reliever and his ERA jumped from 4.85 all the way to 6.23. Here's hoping for better luck next time.
