Matt Harvey gets shelled as Reds get blanked on Wednesday

by Dan Tursky | Wed, Sep 19th 10:45pm EDT

Matt Harvey allowed seven runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings pitched in a loss to Milwaukee on Wednesday. He struck out five and walked two.

Fantasy Impact:

Bad Matt Harvey showed up on Wednesday following a trifecta of outings where he had been showing poise and promise on the hill. He quickly went down in this one however, allowing a run in the first inning and then a three-run homer to Jesus Aguilar in the third. Another three-run shot by Manny Pina would seal his fate in the sixth inning as he was mercifully pulled from the game at that point. The meager showing on Wednesday bumps Harvey's ERA back up to 4.92 on the year. He's tentatively scheduled to see the Royals at home for his next start, a matchup that could just possibly get him back on track in September.
