Matt Shoemaker allowed five runs on five hits over 2 2/3 innings pitched, as the Angels fell to the Athletics 21-3 on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact:
The Angels were straight demolished in this one, despite them having the lead through the first two frames. The third inning killed Shoemaker as he allowed a two-run double to Matt Chapman that was followed up with a Stephen Piscotty three-run jack. Shoemaker was lucky to get pulled thereafter as the bullpen would allow the onslaught to continue in his stead. The rough showing bumped Shoemaker's ERA all the way up from 3.98 to 5.48 on the season. He should get a bounce back matchup against the Rangers next time out.
