Blake Snell becomes first Ray in history to win 21 games

by Douglas Roth | Giants Correspondent | Sun, Sep 23rd 10:00pm EDT

Blake Snell defeated the Blue Jays to receive his 21st victory of the season on Sunday. He pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings allowing three hits and two walks while striking out 11. He lowered his season ERA to 1.90.

Fantasy Impact:

Snell has had an amazing season. Somehow his second half was even better than his first. Since the All-Star break Snell is 9-0 with a 1.11 ERA, .74 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings. These numbers are video game-esque. If Snell is not the Cy Young award winner he can blame pitching in Tampa versus pitching for a more nationally televised team. Snell will get one more outing to try and improve his numbers more at home versus the Blue Jays next Saturday.
