Gio Gonzalez

Gio Gonzalez goes just four innings Tuesday

by Brad Richter | Wed, Sep 26th 7:20am EDT

Gio Gonzalez threw three scoreless innings but gave up a three-run homer to Yadier Molina in the fourth and was removed from the game after the inning. He recorded two strikeouts and issued a pair of free passes in the no-decision. The Brewers went on to win 12-4 over the Cardinals.

Fantasy Impact:

Brewers manager Craig Counsell isn't afraid of giving the starting pitchers a quick hook and turning the game over to the bullpen as he did with Gonzalez on Tuesday. Gonzalez could be a candidate to start the season finale on Sunday against the Tigers depending on the Brewers playoff status. If not, he will finish the season 9-11 with a 4.34 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 7.92 K/9 while pitching for both the Nationals and Brewers.
