Scooter Gennett goes hitless in five at bats on Friday

Gennett is now 0-for-9 over his past two games and his season batting average has dipped to .310 overall. Just 16 days ago it was sitting at .321, easily ahead of current leader Christian Yelich (.322). Gennett has now fallen to fourth on the list behind Yelich, Freddie Freeman, and Anthony Rendon but he has still had a fine season by all accounts. He still has a chance to bounce back and finish second in the batting race over the final two games.
