Andrew Benintendi tallies two runs as Sox take 1-0 ALDS lead over Yanks

by Dan Tursky | White Sox Correspondent | Fri, Oct 5th 11:36pm EDT

Andrew Benintendi was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base as the Red Sox downed the Yankees 5-4 to take a 1-0 ALDS lead.

Fantasy Impact:

Benintendi singled in the bottom of the first and stole second before being driven in by J.D. Martinez's three-run shot. He also layed down a perfect third inning push bunt that he reached on for his second hit of the evening. Both singles and subsequent scores were huge factors towards Boston squeaking out the one run victory. Benintendi should be a big factor in the remainder of the series, specifically in game two on Saturday against Masahiro Tanaka, a pitcher he has taken deep twice and holds a .333 batting average (8-for-24 all-time) against in his career.
