J.D. Martinez guides Red Sox one step closer to ALDS title

by Dan Tursky | Mon, Oct 8th 11:46pm EDT

J.D. Martinez was 1-for-3 with two RBI and two walks as the Red Sox decimated the Yankees 16-1 on Monday to take a 2-1 ALDS lead.

Fantasy Impact:

A quiet night by Martinez on all accounts, just going to show how valuable he truly is. J.D. drove in Mookie Betts on a sacrifice fly in the third and also singled in Jackie Bradley Jr. in the seventh. It is a scary thought for the rest of the playoff teams that on a night Boston scores 16 runs Martinez only accounts for one hit. JDM is batting .364 (4-for-11) so far this postseason with one home run, five RBIs, and two walks. Expect the fireworks to continue on Tuesday night.
