Boston Red Sox utilityman Eduardo Nunez exercised his $5 million option with the Red Sox for 2019 on Thursday. (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
While he had a down year offensively in 2018, Nunez was still a valuable utility player for the Red Sox, filling in for the injured Dustin Pedroia for much of the season while also platooning with the young left-handed hitting Rafael Devers at third base at times. He figures to fill a similar role in 2019, although much will depend on the health of Pedroia heading into the season.
