Mat Latos traded to Marlins

The Miami Marlins acquired P Mat Latos in a deal with the Cincinnati Reds. Latos will likely enter the Marlins' rotation as their second starter for 2015. (Cincinnati Enquirer)
Fantasy Impact:
With Latos set to make over $10 million in 2015 and other Reds' pitchers Johnny Cueto, Mike Leake, and Alfredo Simon about to hit the market, the Reds' needed to free up some funds to try and get back Cueto and Leake. Simon was also traded on Thursday and the Reds managed to save at least $17 million while getting five players in return in their dealings. Latos also gets to return home. The Coconut Creek, FL native played for Broward Community College in 2005 before the Padres drafted him in 2006. Expect Latos' fantasy value to rise a bit since he is leaving a hitters' park for a pitchers' park. He'll provide owners with mid-round value in 2015.
