Fifth-year pitcher Michael Wacha received a contract tender from the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday before the 7 p.m. CT deadline. ( MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Wacha is part of a Cardinals pitching staff that is somewhat muddled going into the 2019 season. After racking up eight wins in 15 starts to the tune of a 3.20 ERA, the righty went down with an oblique injury in June and never returned to the mound. The talent is there for Wacha to be a useful fantasy option, but as always, health is the most crucial factor for him.
