Royals sign 2-yr deal with Kris Medlen

Atlanta non-tendered Medlen earlier to avoid paying him $6 million in 2015 via arbitration. Medlen has had two Tommy John surgeries in his career and KC will see if he has gas left in the tank. It's a low-risk deal for the Royals. It's a two year, $8.5 million dollar contract with a $10 million dollar option for 2017.
Fantasy Impact:
He has a career 2.95 ERA to go with a 1.16 WHIP over 512 innings pitched. His fantasy value is that of a late rounder with potential upside. The kid is 29 and has proven himself worthy in the past. Keep an eye on him.
