Carlos Gonzalez cleared for hitting

by Kyle Smith | Tue, Dec 30th 8:47pm EST

Gonzalez was limited to just 70 games last season before undergoing surgery in August to repair the patella tendon in his left knee. Gonzalez announced on his Twitter and Instagram that he had been cleared to hit. (Colorado Rockies)

Fantasy Impact:

It is no secret that Gonzalez is one of the best left-handed bats in baseball when he is healthy. He has averaged 27 homers in just 130 games per season between 2010-2013. As long as he continues to hit at Coors Field and is paired with Troy Tulowitzki, his run production should remain at an elite level. Still, be wary of investing anything more than a 3rd round draft pick in Gonzalez, due to his health concerns.
