Whit Merrifield signing four-year deal with Royals

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports the Royals and Whit Merrifield have come to terms on a four-year deal that will land in the $15 million range. (Jeff Passan on Twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
The deal buys out Merrifield’s final year of pre-arb plus three seasons of arbitration. The 30-year-old might’ve been able to make more money going year to year, but this way he gets the guaranteed contract. Merrifield led the American League in both hits and stolen bases last year. He’ll once again be an incredibly useful player to own in fantasy.
