Nolan Arenado and Rockies avoid arbitration

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports the Rockies and Nolan Arenado have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $26 million contract. (Ken Rosenthal on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact:

Arenado originally asked for $30 million while Colorado countered with $24 million, which still would’ve been a record. This is Arenado’s final season under contract before he hits free agency. It remains to be seen if he’ll last the whole year with the Rockies. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him get traded should Colorado fall out of contention prior to the trade deadline.
