ESPN's Jeff Passan reports the Phillies are acquiring Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto in exchange for fellow backstop Jorge Alfaro plus pitching prospects Sixto Sanchez and Will Stewart. (Jeff Passan on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Thus ends a months long saga with everyone wondering whether or not Realmuto would actually get traded. At various times he was linked to the Mets, Dodgers, Padres, Reds and more. Ultimately, Philadelphia's willingness to include Sanchez in the trade is what got the deal done. It's not a bad return for Miami at all. The Phillies are once again in win-now mode. Realmuto's fantasy stock is on the rise. He should be the first catcher drafted in all formats this fantasy season.
