Wilin Rosario to play first base?

by Kyle Smith | Tue, Jan 6th 8:12pm EST

Colorado Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich said on Monday that Rosario could potentially play some first base and be a right-handed bat off the bench. (Denver Post)

Fantasy Impact:

The Rockies signed Nick Hundley to a two year contract earlier this week, so questions are beginning to surround Rosario and whether he will be traded or kept. Rosario is one of the better young power-hitting catchers in baseball, averaging 20 homers over 114 games per season during the past 3 seasons. His fantasy stock will plummet if he remains with the Rockies, as he would likely split time with current first baseman Justin Morneau. If he does get traded, plan on him being a very solid fall-back option if you fail to draft one of the top catchers.
