Matt Wieters signing minors deal with Cardinals

Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Cardinals are close to signing Matt Wieters to a minor league contract. (Derrick Goold on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Wieters struggles last year with the Nationals and wasn’t able to find a major league contract this winter. The former top prospect will compete to serve as Yadier Molina’s backup this season. Goold adds the deal should be announced sometime on Wednesday.
