Cesar Hernandez dealing with hip strain

by Mike Maher | Thu, Feb 28th 8:15pm EST

Phillies infielder Cesar Hernandez has grade-one hip flexor strain, according to Matt Breen of Philly.com. He suffered the injury while running the bases, and there is currently no timetable for his return. (Matt Breen on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Hernandez was being given a look at the leadoff spot in a Philadelphia lineup that will now feature Bryce Harper along with fellow newcomers Jean Segura, J.T. Realmuto, and Andrew McCutchen, so an extended absence would put a damper on expectations. If Hernandez can return for Opening Day or shortly thereafter and find his way into the top of the Phillies lineup, he could provide excellent value at his current ECR of 164.
