Jesse Winker smacks first homer of the spring Thursday

Jesse Winker went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in the Reds' 10-8 spring loss to the Brewers on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

It was nice to see a little power from Winker since he's coming off shoulder surgery, something notorious for sapping a player's power at the plate. Winker flashed signs of stardom in limited playing time last season, putting up a 1.07 BB/K ratio along with a 24% line drive rate and 44% hard hit rate. Those are the signs of a .300 hitter, and if Winker can develop some power we've got something special on our hands. At the least, hit 8.9% HR/FB ratio should rise a bit given his home ballpark. Furthermore, Winker's 90.3 MPH average exit velocity and 13.1 degree average launch angle suggest more power could be on the way. Winker is a breakout candidate in 2019 and a fine value at his current consensus ADP of 236.
