Jack Flaherty fans nine in four innings Tuesday

by Elliott Baas | Tigers Correspondent | Wed, Mar 6th 1:50am EST

Jack Flaherty threw four scoreless innings Tuedsay in the Cardinals' 2-1 spring loss to the Phillies. He allowed two hits, no walks, and struck out nine.

Fantasy Impact:

Flaherty's slider is clearly ready for regular season action, and the already mounting hype is sure to increase after this game. It's always scary to take a player this inexperienced as an SP1, but Flaherty should get plenty of innings given the plethora of question marks in the Cardinals' rotation. The strikeout numbers should be elite for Flaherty, and he's a low-end SP1 or high-end SP2 in mixed leagues heading into the year.
