Trevor Williams allows four runs Friday

Trevor Williams allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits over three innings in Pittsburgh's 11-0 spring loss to Toronto. He struck out three and walked two.

Fantasy Impact:

Williams also served up two home runs in three innings, which is odd considering home run prevention was his best skill in 2018. The stars aligned for the 26-year-old last season, who posting a sparking 3.11 ERA despite a mediocre 2.29 K/BB ratio and a 4.68 SIERA. It would take another .261 BABIP out of Williams for him to even sniff a repeat of last season. Look for regression in both ERA and WHIP from Williams, and since he doesn't provide strikeouts and won't be in line for too many wins in Pittsburgh, it's hard to figure out just exactly what he provides to a fantasy team in standard 5x5 leagues. Even at pick 274 there are pitchers who either have more upside or more reliability than Williams in that range.
