Willson Contreras doubles in a run Sunday

Willson Contreras went 1-for-2 with an RBI double and a run scored in the Cubs' 7-5 spring loss to Milwaukee.

Fantasy Impact:

Contreras has hit well this spring, posting a 1.163 OPS in 18 AB thus far. He is coming off a disappointing 2018 that saw Contreras posted a meager .730 OPS and .141 ISO in 544 PA last season, a big letdown considering expectations. Contreras could bounce back in 2019, but the underlying numbers from 2018 aren't encouraging. He had a .220 xBA and .298 xwOBA, both among the worst in the league. His 52.2% groundball rate and 28.9% hard hit rate aren't not conducive to exceptional power or batting average. Contreras will need to correct these bad trends if he hopes to have a better season. Even then, the catcher position is rather thin and Contreras gets plenty of playing time, so he's still a top-eight option behind the plate.
