Reds starting pitcher Alex Wood is dealing with back tightness and might not be ready for the start of the season. Wood faced eight batters and threw 36 pitches during a simulated game Friday. (Bobby Nightengale on Twitter)

Wood has dealt with back issues before, and injuries are the one thing that has held him back so far in his career. He was traded from the Dodgers to the Reds over the winter, and it's possible that a change of scenery could be good for the left-hander (although there could have been better landing spots than the hitter-friendly confines in Cincinnati).
