Dustin Pedroia to open the season on the Injured List

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia will start the season on the Injured List, according to Red Sox manager Alex Cora. Pedroia has not suffered any setbacks on his surgically-repaired left knee, but the team is taking it slow with his rehab. (Alex Speier on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Injuries and age have taken a toll on Pedroia and his fantasy value over the years, and he is no longer the 20/20 threat that he was in his prime. He should still hit for a decent average and both score and drive in runs in a potent Boston offense if he gets to a point where he is healthy and playing regularly, but he will likely still see a hefty number of days off even when he does return to the team. His fantasy value is minimal for the time being.
