Eloy Jimenez on verge of signing eight-year deal with White Sox

Hector Gomez of Deportivo Z 101 in the Dominican Republic reports the White Sox and Eloy Jimenez are close to an agreement on an eight-year extension. (Hector Gomez on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports the deal is for six years and $43 million. There’s also a pair of club options that can help give the contract a max value of $77 million. It's a large amount of money for a player who has never appeared in a major league game, but Jimenez is considered a special prospect. This could mean he starts the season in the majors since the White Sox would no longer have an incentive to manipulate his service time.
