Dexter Fowler

Dexter Fowler smacks a pair of home runs Thursday

by Elliott Baas | Fri, Mar 22nd 1:30am EDT

Dexter Fowler went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in the Cardinals' 11-3 spring win over the Yankees.

Fantasy Impact:

Fowler is currently in competition with Tyler O'Neill and Jose Martinez for playing time in the outfield, and Fowler is unquestionably the least interesting player from a fantasy perspective of that group. He posted a miserable .576 OPS in 334 PA last season, and prior to this game had just one extra-base hit all spring. Still, Fowler is owed $43.5 million over the next three years, giving St. Louis motivation to keep him in the lineup. He could be an NL-only roster filler, but he probably won't be relevant in standard mixed leagues this year.
