Steve Pearce (calf) hit in the batting cage Thursday, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports. The Red Sox had planned to have Pearce get at-bats in a minor-league game, but they apparently changed their thoughts on that. (Jason Mastrodonato on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Pearce hurt his calf in a game on Sunday and has been out since. There has been no word on a return date for the veteran slugger or whether or not he would be ready for Opening Day. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on updates.
