Michael Wacha allows one run in no decision Sunday

by Elliott Baas | Royals Correspondent | Sun, Mar 31st 5:51pm EDT

Michael Wacha allowed one run on four hits over six innings in the Cardinals' 5-4 loss to the Brewers on Sunday. He struck out seven and walked four.

Fantasy Impact:

Other than the walks, this was a solid outing for Wacha against a quality lineup. His bullpen spoiled his chance to win in this one, but he can hardly be blamed for that. Wacha pitched to a 3.22 ERA last season before an oblique strain ended his season in June. The underlying numbers weren't as favorable, as Wacha had a 4.60 SIERA and 1.97 K/BB ratio in 84.1 innings in 2018. Still, he's proven to be a decent back-end pitcher over the years, and could be solid in the right matchup. He'll have a decent matchup next time out against San Diego at home on Sunday.
