Alex Reyes pulled from save opportunity Wednesday

by Elliott Baas | Thu, Apr 4th 1:15am EDT

Alex Reyes was pulled in the bottom of the tenth inning Wednesday in the Cardinals' 5-4 win over the Pirates. Reyes allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks before being relieved.

Fantasy Impact:

Reyes was called upon to get the save with Jordan Hicks unavailable, and couldn't get the job done for Mike Schildt and the Cardinals. He gave up a single and walked two to load up the bases before Schildt had seen enough. Dakota Hudson came in and walked in one of Reyes' baserunners, but was able to secure the win after the fact. Reyes wasn't going to be asked to close out games much anyway, but those opportunities will be even more scarce after this performance.
