Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (oblique) to begin rehab stint in Single-A

by Garett Thomas | Blue Jays Correspondent | Thu, Apr 4th 4:02pm EDT

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will play Thursday's game with Dunedin, an Advanced Class-A team. The report suggests that Guerrero will play 5-to-7 innings and will be reevaluated for next steps, following the game. Once Guerrero is fully healthy, it is expected that the number-one prospect will be on an accelerated path to the Majors, but will spend some time in the minors prior. (Major League Baseball)

Fantasy Impact:

Guerrero is at the back-end of recovery but still has to go through rehab assignments to prove he's 100-percent. Eventually Guerrero will be brought up to Triple-A, likely his last stop before getting to the Show full time. It is worth noting that the Blue Jays could keep Guerrero in the minors long enough to prevent him from accumulating a full year's service time - something a lot of teams do with their star-prospects in order to control their playing rights, longer. Hang tight fantasy owners; if healthy, Guerrero will be available to accrue fantasy points sooner than later.
