Felipe Vazquez picks up first save of the year Thursday
by Elliott Baas | Fri, Apr 5th 12:51am EDT
Felipe Vazquez pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his first save of the year in the Pirates' 2-0 win over the Reds on Thursday. He allowed one hit, no walks, and struck out three.
Fantasy Impact:
Vazquez was forced to get four outs after Matt Kemp reached on a third strike drop, but he was able to slam the door shut for his first save of the season. Pittsburgh will likely finish below .500 as a club, but Vazquez's talent and job security make him a top ten closer regardless.
