Jose Quintana pitched seven scoreless innings and improved to 1-1 Thursday in the Cubs' 2-0 win over the Pirates. He allowed four hits, one walk, and struck out 11.
Fantasy Impact:
This start was basically the exact opposite of Quintana's last start where he allowed eight earned runs in three innings at Milwaukee. Quintana was able to shut the Pirates down with his bread-and-butter, a steady diet of fastballs and curveballs. He draws a juicy matchup next time out, taking on the Marlins in Miami on Tuesday.
