Kyle Hendricks falls to 0-3 following loss Saturday

by Elliott Baas | Cubs Correspondent | Sun, Apr 14th 11:37am EDT

Kyle Hendricks allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits over five innings in the Cubs' 6-5 loss to the Angels on Saturday. He walked one and struck out two while falling to 0-3.

Fantasy Impact:

It's been a rough start to the year for Hendricks, who lowered his season ERA to 5.40 after this start. Batters are hitting Hendricks much harder in 2019 than in season's past, as Hendricks has an 87 MPH average exit velocity against. His 42.3% hard hit rate is also about 15% above his career mark, and Hendricks has a ghastly .347 xBA against. It's still early, but Hendricks calling card was inducing soft contact. If he can't do that he won't be good, plain and simple. His next start comes Friday against Arizona.
