Zach Davies pitches seven strong innings in win Saturday

by Elliott Baas | Royals Correspondent | Sun, Apr 14th 1:09pm EDT

Zach Davies allowed one run on eight hits over seven innings in the Brewers' 4-1 win over the Dodgers on Saturday. He walked zero and struck out six while improving to 2-0.

Fantasy Impact:

Davies has now allowed just one earned run over his last two starts, and owns a 1.53 ERA on the year. The right-hander has benefited from a 90% strand rate thus far, and had a 4.73 SIERA through three starts. He is throwing his changeup more often, and has a minuscule 15.1% hard hit rate against, so he is doing a few interesting things. The upside is low here, and at best Davies could be a poor man's Kyle Hendricks. His next start comes Thursday against the Dodgers at home.
