Blake Snell (toe) lands on 10-day IL

by Garett Thomas | Giants Correspondent | Tue, Apr 16th 3:05pm EDT

Blake Snell has been placed on the 10-day IL, due to a fractured fourth right toe. Snell said the injury occurred on Sunday when he was getting out of the shower and decided to move a decorative stand in his bathroom. Part of the stand fell as he lifted it and the bottom piece, which was made from granite, fell on his right foot. The IL move was retroactive to Sunday and the Rays are calling up Emilio Pagan in Snell's place. (Mark Topkin on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Snell is a cornerstone for fantasy owners, so this will surely sting. Luckily for the ace, the Rays only expect him to miss one start. Continue to monitor his injury as it is still breaking and will surely develop over the next few days.
