Detroit Tigers left-hander Matthew Boyd allowed three runs in seven innings of work in a Tuesday start against the Pirates. Boyd struck out seven and walked one in the 5-3 loss.
Boyd pitched well but had to settle for a no-decision. The veteran southpaw has taken a huge step forward in 2019, posting a 1-1 record, 2.96 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings of work. He's developing into quite the fantasy weapon.
