Jose Quintana threw seven scoreless innings and improved to 2-1 in the Cubs' 4-0 win over the Marlins on Tuesday. Quintana allowed six hits, no walks, and struck out seven.
Quintana has now thrown 14 straight scoreless innings between his last two starts after giving up eight in three innings his first time out. These last two starts have come against weaker lineups in Pittsburgh and Miami, while the stinker came against a strong lineup in Milwaukee. Still, Quintana is doing his best to prove that first start was a fluke. His next start comes Sunday against Arizona.
