Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom is headed back to New York for an MRI on his elbow after experiencing discomfort after playing catch on Friday, according to a report from Mets beat writer Tim Healey. The elbow was "barking," according to manager Mickey Callaway. (Tim Healey on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Elbow discomfort is never a good sign for a pitcher, but it is too soon to speculate about the severity of deGrom's injury. Of course, elbow injuries in pitchers can often to a precursor to Tommy John surgery, so this is a concerning development for the Mets and fantasy owners everywhere.
