Jake Arrieta tosses fifth straight quality start in loss Monday

by Mike Maher | Tue, Apr 23rd 8:55am EDT

Phillies starter Jake Arrieta allowed three earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings in a loss to the New York Mets on Monday. The loss drops him to 3-2 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Arrieta has now thrown five consecutive quality starts to begin the season and has a 2.65 ERA to go with 25 strikeouts over his first 34 innings. His 4.48 FIP and .239 BABIP indicate that some regression could be in his future, but for now, he is pitching well and getting some good luck on balls in play. He will look to keep that going when he takes on the Miami Marlins at home in his next start.
