Paul DeJong snaps homer drought with two-run bomb Sunday

by Elliott Baas | White Sox Correspondent | Mon, May 6th 11:22am EDT

Paul DeJong went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in the Cardinals' 13-5 loss to the Cubs on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

DeJong hadn't homered since April 23, so his ninth inning blast was more than welcome. Even with the home runs DeJong has been hitting well, and he now has a .336 AVG and .590 SLG on the year. His .379 BABIP will drop at some point, causing his batting average to fall, but a marked improvement with strikeout rate suggests that DeJong has made legitimate improvements at the plate and could be in for a career year.
