Tyler Mahle allowed one run on three hits over six innings in the Reds' 2-0 loss to the Athletics on Tuesday. He walked one and struck out eight while falling to 0-5.
Fantasy Impact:
Too bad that Mahle's team got no hit by Mike Fiers, because he deserved a win after this effort. Mahle has done a few interesting things this season, like cut his walk rate to 5% and increase his groundball rate to 45%. He's certainly worth a speculative add in most leagues, especially with the current pitching landscape. He has a good matchup next time out, taking on the Giants in San Francisco.
