Jack Flaherty strikes out two in loss Wednesday

by Elliott Baas | Tigers Correspondent | Thu, May 9th 1:26am EDT

Jack Flaherty allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits over five innings in the Cardinals' 5-0 loss to the Phillies on Wednesday. He walked three and struck out two while falling to 3-3.

Fantasy Impact:

Flaherty wasn't sharp in this one, and the two strikeouts are tied for the lowest Flaherty has ever had on a start of five innings or more. He was hyped up on draft day, but perhaps his problems with control and limited repertoire weren't fully taken into consideration with his draft cost. He's still got one of the best sliders in the game, but Flaherty has many flaws at this point in his career. His next start comes Tuesday at Atlanta.
