Michael Chavis could see time in the outfield

by Mike Maher | Mariners Correspondent | Thu, May 9th 12:13pm EDT

Red Sox infielder Michael Chavis has been shagging fly balls before games recently as the team is entertaining the idea of him seeing some time in the outfield once fellow infielders Dustin Pedroia and Brock Holt return from the injured list. (Alex Speier on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Chavis has already seen time at second base, third base, and first base since his call-up, and his success at the plate has the Red Sox thinking about ways to keep his bat in the lineup. He is already eligible at third base and second base in most fantasy formats, and adding outfield eligibility would only make him that more valuable. Through 17 games, Chavis is hitting .293 with six home runs, 13 runs scored, 13 RBIs, and two stolen bases.
