Michael Wacha takes first loss Wednesday

by Elliott Baas | Royals Correspondent | Thu, May 16th 11:48am EDT

Michael Wacha allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits over five innings in the Cardinals' 4-0 loss to the Braves on Wednesday. He walked four and struck out four while falling to 3-1.

Fantasy Impact:

This was actually one of Wacha's better starts from a results perspective, but his team couldn't offer any support in this game. Wacha's control has been spotty and hasn't had much longevity this season, and pairing those issues with a 1.71 HR/9 is what leads to a 4.93 ERA. He has been successful in the past, but right now Wacha isn't good enough to trust in anything but an NL-only league, and even then one would have to be rather desperate. His next start comes Tuesday vs. the Royals.
