Jordan Lyles strikes out 12 in win Friday

Jordan Lyles allowed one run on five hits over seven innings in the Pirates' 5-3 win over the Padres on Friday. He walked one and struck out 12 while improving to 4-1.

Fantasy Impact:

Lyles absolutely dominated the Padres in this one, with a solo home run to Franmil Reyes his only blemish on the night. Lyles has begun incorporating a slider into his pitch more often over his last few starts, and it's paid dividends for him thus far. A second breaking ball to compliment his curve may be just what Lyles needs to turn a corner. His next start comes Thursday vs. Colorado.
